Beach Cottage Hamper Basket & Loved Items
A while ago I came across a couple of old linen baskets/hampers. I absolutely love these, the rattan (if that is what it is) just seems to speak Beach to me and works so well with a relaxed decor. So I got to work on giving them a bit of the Beach Cottage treatment.
I spied them and thought oh yeah I'm likin' them. They were filthy & in much much need of some serious love and attention. I stuck them in the boot of the Beach Mobile and headed home, eager to do a little makeover and put one of them in the hall, in one of those corners, that's, you know, just sort of there and not doing much and could be put to so much better use.
So I performed Beach Cottage surgery to make it beautiful and it took some work, not hard labour, slogging your guts out kinda work, more like a bit of time to clean and paint and foof...but it's great when you find a piece that doesn't cost you too much in terms of money, but costs you in love, that in return gives you loads back in terms of delightful, happy-to-be-in-the-cottageness (and go here for links to making life beautiful with melissa).
Ooh you have them all fooled! The baskets look great.

I love your basket hampers. You did a fine job of revamping them for the cottage. I have one like the second one but it's green...my favorite color!
I love your cottage more every time I go to your blog! Amazingly fabulous!

I love the look of wicker. But my doggies apparently like the taste of it. It gets eaten. So mine went to the curb a long time ago. Wish I could have sent it your way!
