Christmas Decorating Beach Cottage Style

IMG_4957

Errrm I could get used to this kinda Christmas decorating.  Walking past a hook and looping a bauble over it.  Mmmm yeah.  Very stress free, very Beach Cottage.  This was about the most I did today, hung this one bauble on this rusty old hook.  I think that's funny really.  Of course I did do all those other things we seem to do and think are nothing...

I did go back to the docs, and I am officially "well", good blood results, good this, good that.  I sat there and said I am not impressed.  What? he exclaimed.  Well if there is nothing wrong matey why on earth do I feel like **** and can't get my leg out of the bed in the morning or lift my arm to hang the washing on the line?  I think it could well be the fault of your husband and your 3 children.  What the **** do they have to do with it?  Classic case of worn-out mummy, I'll issue you a 'Domestic Help Certificate'. Ho ho ho and chuckled to himself.  He thought he was clever and funny.  I eyed him strongly...thinking he was neither clever or even remotely funny.  Give me some Penicillin matey and when I don't feel better I'll be back.

I refuse to decorate for Christmas until Thanksgiving has passed. I refuse! ahahahaha
This world is turning so fast that we are skipping Holidays! Good grief! I do however admire your thinking ;)

Hi Sarah :)

I'm glad the doctor said you were okay and I hope you feel better. I love that ornament :)

Sarah, I'm going to sound like a mother hen, but you need to find an excellent naturopath who will build up your immune sytem. Antibiotics can make you feel a lot worse. Take it from someone who is allergic to most of them. I go between a very holistic naturopath and the Mayo Clinic, and the Clinic always confirms that my naturopath is doing right by me. The proof is in the test results after she has a whack at me. Of course when I eat all the leftover Halloween candy and such, I'm my own worst enemy. ;-)

Please feel better!

Sheila

ah, Sarah, hope you get better really soon. There's a lot to do with Christmas coming up. It must be strange to have Christmas when it's hot..isn't that right, it hot's there now??

Well, Sarah, at least now you know you're physically okay and can ponder why your body is not living up to your expectations. I think he's probably right. Just think of all that you DO! I firmly stand by my morning and evening stretching exercises for my back, body and soul. It is a quiet time on the floor, yoga in my own way, I suppose. I have been doing it since 1997 and just swear by what it does for my body. I am really stretched out before I start the day and when I end it. So thus far less wear and tear on my 51 year old body. All you need is a pillow under your head and a simple rolled up towel.

Glad you are on the mend. I think we share the same affliction.

I wish you well Sarah...I do love the commentary between you and the doc..got to wonder sometimes what they really want to say to you! I am sorry you are not feeling up to par, being a mommy to very active kids is tiring on the mind and the body....

Feel better soon~ Maybe a relaxing day at the spa will do you some good?

I wish I could be so simple, here I have to gob everything up..a little too much.
Being a shop owner, I have too many lovlies to keep boxed up, ICANTWAIT!!!!!

So happy to hear you have a clean bill of health!!! You know, there are days I literally feel like passing out in the afternoon... I think your doc just gave me my reason! lol

I felt the same way about 2 years ago. I went for complete work-up and they didn't find a thing wrong. I just realized I had gotten older. Lol. It's terrible, but I'm just plain worn out and don't have the energy four kids, a husband, and a dog-in-diapers later. I take naps in the afternoons often, which I only did during pregnancy in my earlier years. Lol. I hope there is nothing wrong with you other than age.

Hello, I stumbled upon your blog recently and am enjoying reading about your beach cottage and all the beautiful photos.

I love the fact that you live in Australia! My family and I had the privilege of vacationing there in 2005. Hope to go back again someday. We loved it there.

I'll be visiting your blog often. :)

So glad your test results came back clear! Though I do understand your frustration... worn out mummy needs coffee with blog friend Nel ;)

Love the simple decorating, I'm getting out my tree this weekend, yay!! Really looking forward to decorating this year.

Nel xx

Hi Sarah, silly doctor...mind you it was better that nothing was wrong rather than finding something awful was wrong. As the girls say probably just try your best to take it easy and not be everything to everyone. My friend at work swears by those goji berries you can get at the health food shop - cant do any harm. I hope your visit to the auction house tomorrow perks you up, wish i was going along too but unfortunately will be stuck in an office all day long so will live through your adventures for the day, Mel xxx

Bless your Heart ...You will be fine...I don't know why they don't program us with a battery lol and replace it when we get slow....Boy do I need a Battery...
Sit back and enjoy your beautiful cottage~*~drink some hot tea and enjoy all the beautiful work you have done! Then kick into gear when you feel strong and start all over....SmileS~*~Birdy

Oh my gosh you're cracking me up. I'm glad you're "officially well" and hopefully feeling a bit better, too.

I love that last photo...it looks like the silver ball is kind of floating. I am *never* going to be able to pull myself together for Christmas this year! Where has the time gone?!

Hey Sarah, hope you are feeling better. Love that ornament - so beautiful!!

Lovely idea to hang an ornament from a hook- sweet-
Thanks for the beautiful pictures :}

Ooo, yes, that is my kind of decorating too!!! Love it. Sure hope you feel better. When I was a younger mom I felt horrible and went through a similar situation with a doctor. Eventually found out I had low thyroid and wasn't crazy after all. Household help is nice, but feeling good is more important!

happy day,
melissa

I'm so sad that Cottage Living magazine has been shut down - it was great!
