Beach Cottage Finds an Adirondack & Karma

 IMG_7000

G'day sweet bloggers!  How the devil are you all?

Me?   If you've been with me for while you'll have probably taken one look at that photo and thought I might be pretty happy.

And.  You.  Would.  Be.  So.  Right.

I recently came across this chair on one of my expeditions that are not for the lightweights - it's tough out there baby in the grind of treasure hunting.  As soon as I saw it I was missing a heartbeat.  Oooh yeah.

Not only was it on the Beach Cottage Most Wanted List, but it's an old one and it's shabby and peely.  Goodness, gracious.  To tell you I was excited, an understatement.  No-one around me seemed in the least bit interested.  No-one else was quivering inside.  Certainly no-one was doing the thrift dance when they BOUGHT IT.

And that's when I so wished you could have been there with me, you gals would have got it, wouldn't you?  Tell me you would?  You would have known just how pleased I was...how I was positively brimming with the news to tell you as I drove home with that beauty in the back of the car...you would have been delighted too.  Right?

But I guess not everyone is the same as me.  Which leades me to karma.  I am a big believer in that old saying 'you never know what is around the corner' so I try to help people out when I can, because you never know when I might be the one who is stuck or needs some help.  Do you do that?

Not that I am really nice, of course not.  But if there is something I can do for someone, I am trying to, you know, pay it forward.  This week I've done four pretty big favours out there in the real world and not one of them has kinda acknowledged what I did in the way that I would of if it had been me.  If you see what I mean.   In fact one of them even knocked me back.  Hmmm

I suppose though that the way Karma works for me is I come across a chair for my tatty old cottage that makes me studidly happy.  I guess that this is probably my best karma and other people wouldn't get that.  But I think you might...

I'm totally with you on the Karma thing. I like the saying - what goes around, comes around.

Enjoy your 'Karma' chair, your earned it.
By the way, I love that chair - chippy perfect!!
Hugs ~ Kerryanne

Fantastic find! I would have been very pleased too!
Wishing you and your family a Happy Easter.

Oh yeah, the thrill of THE find! I would have lugged that chair right into MY car too! I always find it interesting how some people have no clue how great an item is or could be. Makes it easier for the rest of us to grab and go!

It´s a beauty! You are so lucky I was not around.
I would have tied you up and taken the chair myself. ;)
But that´s also Karma....I´m too far away to keep you from buying and finding those wonderful things.
Have a Happy Easter!

I get it! Your chair is perfect for your cottage. Your pictures look like postcards.

You are right about Brenda's garden. It's one of my very favorite places to visit.

It doesn't get any better than finding a treasure, especially THAT treasure! xo, suzy

Enjoy your 'new' treasure! A find like that would thrill me as well. :o)

What a fabulous treasure. MY heart would've skipped a beat too! Wow! And it's your color and perfectly shabby. I LOVE it! You are a lucky girl!
You are also a great photographer! I love to come by and see how you have photographed something, great eye! See you tomorrow for Thrifty Thursday?!

Thanks for stopping by my blog for a visit! Yes, mosaics can go in the garden. But you have to seal the pots before you mosaic them with water proof sealer. Then when setting the china, you need to use a water proof adhesive. They should be brought inside during winter and sealed with grout sealer every spring before setting them back outside again. I hope you visit me again soon.

You have a lovely blog!
Penny

What a great chair. The flowers are beautiful. You take such beautiful pictures!!!

Just wanted to let you know, I've never commented here, but I don't miss your blog! It's my favorite "eye candy" blog, and your pictures never disappoint. (and I'm starting to take tons of angled pictures. Go figure!) Thanks for sharing!

I love it! I would have bought it too...if I had room for it that is! Haha "stupidly happy" ...I love that! That explains perfectly how I feel when I find something I love!!!

I help people out when I can too...it does come back to you one way or the other, plus I think it makes you feel good about yourself for being that type of person!!!

So happy you found your chair! And the photos are beautiful with the flowers... it belongs in a garden magazine!

Wish I had a benefactor who'd pay your ticket to NYC so we could go to Tinsel Trading together!!! =) Do you know, the first time I went there, I was so overwhelmed that I didn't buy a single thing! lol I learned from my mistakes and didn't leave empty-handed this time.

It is a charming chair, and I like the way you photographed it with the flowers. Thanks for sharing. Happy Outdoor Wednesday. Here's mine:

I love the chair and the beautiful cottage you have so lovingly turned into a home.

I've followed your blog for months from afar, but decided it's darn time to step up and say hello from Nashville, Tennessee.

I understand your kind of Karma completely. It's a little frustrating when it seems like your almost always on the giving side...but when that Karma comes back around...it was all worth it! LOVE the chair! Perfect! You deserved it!

I love the pictures of the chair and flowers! Looks like it would be perfect for your cottage.

Well, Sarah, I love that chair. It has your name written all over it! And you're so sweet. You paid it forward to me with your adding my URL. I thank you, vintage Sarah! Yeah, that karma can be a real kicker. If there's one single thing that spooks me, it's the whole evolution of karma. I try to keep it on my side!
Brenda

These are some of the best shots you have ever posted! I know what you mean about Karma...

Oh I soooooo get it - what a fabulous find and perfectly shabby.

About the Karma thing. You only have to know that if you put out good karma it will ALWAYS come back and will always be a blessing, just perhaps not in the way you expected, however, on "peoples behaviour", well, that is another matter. I am constantly amazed at how some people behave. But, I try to focus on the good and it usually outweighs the bad. Just know, you have done the right thing and it will come back to you (just maybe not straight away!!!).
Have a happy Easter.

I'm so pleased to read everyone's comments on karma, it's really made me think that yep I am actually doing the right thing, stuff the recognition!

thanks guys, you rock

Sarah

Hi Sarah,
your Adirondack chair is just fabulous! I'm dreaming of finding a similar one, sooner or later! Great!
Monica.

Yes, I would have wrestled you in store for that chair. And I'm scrappy!

I totally believe in karma. I keep hoping something good is waiting for me. As in, a JOB!
